Hare Bay Adventures brings to life natural and cultural heritage of Newfoundland through wooden row boat adventures. Exploring the coast of Hare Bay in a handmade wooden boat, learning about the local history and geological and natural environment that makes the area so special and stop for a boil up. ​ Through guided hikes tourists will embark on the trails of Hare Bay. Our guide will point out different features of the area including the Dover fault, local plants and berries, with chance of animal and bird sightings. ​ Learn about a favourite outport activity, fishing. Our guide will set you up with all the required gear as you learn to catch a trout, or fish from the wharf to catch cunners. Hear the importance of this pastime and have a snack while enjoying the local landscape.
Our Professional Staff
Renee Collins
Owner of Hare Bay Adventures, Renee manages the day-to-day running’s of the Gift shop while making sure all the tours are booked running smoothly. Renee has a BA from Memorial University in Archaeology and Folklore and a post grad diploma in Heritage Resource Management as well as a business degree from Fleming College. She sits on the board of directors with Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador and the William Mercer Academy Parent Council.
Duane Collins
Operations manager of Hare Bay Adventures, Duane is lead tour guide and makes sure all the gear, building and boat are in good running operation. Duane holds a BA from Memorial University in Archeology and History and holds a wealth of knowledge that makes every tour enjoyable. Duane is
Chair of the Board of directors with Adventure Central and sits on the board with the Gander Area
Chamber of Commence.
Michelle Collins
Assistant manager of Hare Bay Adventures gift shop and café. You will find Michelle in the kitchen making a variety of cakes, cookies, and buns while making sure everything is running smoothly and the place is nice and clean.
Steve Perry
Arts and Culture Development Coordinator of Hare Bay Adventures. Steve has over 30 years experience as an actor and tour guide. He was the General manager and Technical Director for Beyond the Overpass Theatre company for 16 years
